GREEN BLUES is a PGR-led and Royal Holloway, University of London-based interdisciplinary seminar series. Each seminar involves three components: a research paper, a performance and poetry reading. The series takes inspiration from Jem Bendell’s paper, ‘Deep Adaptation: A Map for Navigating Climate Tragedy’ (2018), in which Bendell calls for an ‘urgent pursuit of resilience, relinquishment and restoration’ in the face of projected social turbulence due to global warming. Blending critical and creative approaches, we seek to spark debate about what new ideas and practices a dramatically altered biosphere might stimulate or force into being.
